27/11: Sue Ballard from Pancreatic Cancer UK and Malcolm Nisbet from Oxfordshire Cancer Services Advisory Group will be at Oxford Youth Hostel at 4.30pm to meet the team when they arrive on Sunday 28th November. Malcolm will take some photos for the spring edition of CancerVoices for MacMillan. They and Les would love to meet anyone affected by pancreatic cancer whilst they are in Oxford. It would be great to have a crowd to welcome Les.

09/11: A winter's tale for the Shakespeare in Nantwich
Mark White, landlord of the Shakespeare pub in Nantwich, will open his doors for the Bike to the Future team on Saturday (27th Nov) lunchtime for what is hoped will be a winter's tale to remember. Originally from Bolton, and a fanatical Bolton Wanderers fan, Mark found out about the ride by reading the article in the Bolton Evening News (BEN). Mark then contacted the BEN, who put him in touch with Les to find out details of the ride and to offer to provide lunch for the team, and contact some of the local press. Thank you Mark.

Reebok, one of the leading sports clothes and equipment manufacturers, and main sponsors of Bolton Wanderers, have agreed to supply Bolton Wanderers shirts, caps and water bottles for the Bike to the Future team so as to promote the BWFC brand all the way down to Hammersmith

18/10:Bike to the Future teams up with Marlborough First & Middle School in Harrow
Les has agreed that the Bike to the Future ride will go via the Marlborough First and Middle school playground between 1.30pm - 2.00pm on Monday 29th November. Marlborough is Rosa and Immi's school in Harrow, and the headteacher Kaushi Silva, and the year 7 teachers Gill Ross and Darren Goddard have indicated that they want to use the ride as a mini-project for the two year 7 classes. Les will be going into the school later in November to spend some time with each of the classes.

29/09: 'Buy a Bike' adds to list of sponsors
Buy a Bike, one of the biggest bike shops in Britain has added its support to Bike to the Future by providing bikes for Les and George at great rates. They have also created a fantastic link from their own website promoting Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Bike to the Future pages. Check out their web address in the sponsors section of this site.
17/09: Bolton Wanderers to start the ride.
Bolton Wanderers have invited members of the 'Bike to the Future' team to the Reebok Stadium on Friday November 26 2004 to attend their training session, followed by 'Big Sam' Allardyce, the Bolton Manager, and other players officially starting the ride. As Saturday November 27 2004 is a match day, Bolton will be arranging for a member of the Bolton team of the 1970's (the team which Les and Francis watched every home match standing in the Burnden Terrace), to cut the ribbon and set the team on their way.
03/09: Bike to the Future secures first sponsors
Bike to the Future has secured its first sponsorship deals
- KONE plc, one of the leading lift and escalator companies both in the UK and worldwide, which offer a full range of services: maintenance, repair, modernisation and installation of new equipment, will provided assistance with the provision of essential bike equipment for the ride, together with covering the costs of accommodation during the ride,
- H&M, one of the leading clothes retailers in Europe, will provide a Support Van for the ride, and will offer other logistical support in ensuring all of the team bikes are in the right place at the right time.
- Austin Marketing, an independent PR and Marketing company, will supply studio and printing assistance in support of the ride.
