  • Part-time (three days a week, one year contract)
  • Deadline: 5pm, 3rd December 2014

Pancreatic Cancer UK is a charity dedicated to providing hope to those affected by pancreatic cancer. We are the only national charity fighting pancreatic cancer on all fronts through support, information, campaigning and research.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new, part-time Media Manager to join our dynamic team to help make a difference and contribute towards our vision of a long and good life for everyone diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

We have a lot of great stories to share. We want to ensure the general public know about the services we provide, our campaigning work and the exciting, innovative research we fund. We need a new, dedicated media professional to help ensure that we are capitalising on all media opportunities as well as proactively generating stories and coverage.

The charity is developing and growing quickly and we are expanding the work we do and the services we provide. You will be at the forefront of these changes, helping us to promote this exciting work through accurate, consistent and impactful messaging.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and motivated self-starter. You will manage the press office 3 days a week,  providing comprehensive media relations support and delivering a first class service to journalists and other media representatives. You will raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer UK by proactively engaging with the media, building relationships with journalists and liaising with our inspiring supporters who have offered to share their stories.

We are looking for someone who is productive and persuasive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to sell-in stories to journalists, as well as having experience of building exceptional relationships with stakeholders and supporters. You will be capable of managing competing priorities under pressure. You will have good knowledge and understanding of the complexities of managing a press office function for a charity and experience of delivering high profile media for multi-strategy campaigns.

To apply for this role please send your CV and covering letter to Claire Walsh, Head of Fundraising and Marketing (claire@pancreaticcancer.org.uk) by 5pm on Wednesday 3rd December.

Interview date is 11th December 2014.
