Services Volunteer

Location: Head Office, Vauxhall

Voluntary, part-time

We are are looking for a volunteer one day per week to assist with administration duties in our friendly office based in Vauxhall, South East London. You will be part of a team that helps to provide support and information to pancreatic cancer patients and their families and carers. We also provide information to hospitals and health centres across the country and training to health professionals. The role will involve assisting with admin duties such as supporting with event administration/planning, filling envelopes and information packs, sending out information, updating records, photo-copying and printing. Some aspects of the role will also involve data entry on the charity’s database.

What we are looking for:

• Must be able to adhere to our confidentiality agreement
• Have an interest in the charity and it’s work
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word/Excel and willing to learn to use a database. Experience using Raisers Edge is desirable.
• Good organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
• Can undertake routine tasks including some repetitive work/packing information packs
• Willing/able to do some moving and lifting of boxes
• Works well in a team
• Confident and sensitive telephone manner

The team are ideally looking for someone who will be available on a Friday each week although some flexibility may be possible. Initially the role will be offered for two months with a review after that point to check on workload and priorities within the team. 

*We will reimburse reasonable travel expenses within London and lunch (up to £5 for lunch)

Community and Events Officer

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

Location: Head Office, Vauxhall

Full-time, permanent 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Pancreatic Cancer UK, a fast growing charity determined to make a difference to those affected by pancreatic cancer. We help by providing support and information to those affected, and provide hope towards a better future through our awareness raising and the funding of vital research.

With the support of the Community and Events Manager, this post will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of fundraising activities such as the London Marathon, Great North Run and Royal Parks Half Marathon. This will involve budgeting, logistics and marketing. In addition to this the post holder will deliver excellent supporter engagement and build strong relationships with key Individuals to increase their fundraising and involvement with Pancreatic Cancer UK.

We are looking for a passionate and driven fundraiser, who has a proven track record of delivering results. Excellent organisational skills and communications skills are important in this role as well as being a team player. Experience of managing projects, meeting deadlines and coping with a busy workload is essential.
