ESPAC-Tplus
Title: A study to look for proteins that show how well
chemotherapy has worked after surgery to remove cancer of the
pancreas (ESPAC-Tplus)
Full title: A translational study,
characterisation of tumour molecular response predictors of
chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments for pancreatic cancer in
patients in the ESPAC Trials (ESPAC - Tplus)
Phase: Non interventional translational trial
Why is this study being carried out?
Chemotherapy is often given following surgery for pancreatic
cancer but it is difficult to predict how well it will work for
different patients.
By looking for certain proteins (markers) in pancreatic tissue
from patients who have had chemotherapy it may be possible to build
up a picture to help decisions about chemotherapy treatment for
future patients.
Who is the study suitable for?
This study is suitable for patients who have taken part in the
ESPAC trials. Patients will not benefit directly but the results
may help patients with pancreatic cancer in the future.
Trial centres
The trial is open at 42 locations nationwide.
Recruitment start date: 01/12/2007
