Supporting Voices
John Humphries, of the Today programme says:
"I lost someone very close to me to pancreatic cancer,
so I know from personal experience what it can do. Vast sums of money
are spent on cancer research but some forms of it inevitably attract more
support than others. Pancreatic cancer has been relatively neglected and
its victims need much more support. Let's try to improve the profile and
funding of this terrible disease."
Dr Sarah Jarvis and Piers Morgan have both supported the charity's
work:.
Media
medic, Dr Sarah Jarvis, says: “While survival rates for many other
cancers have rocketed in recent years, death rates for pancreatic cancer
remain tragically high. We urgently need investment in research to bring
hope to the many sufferers from this dreadful disease and their families.”
Piers
Morgan says: “Many of us know someone either directly or indirectly
who has been affected by Pancreatic Cancer and we are all equally responsible
in helping drive positive change and raise much needed funds."
Lorraine Kelly, presenter of LK Today says:"Pancreatic cancer
has
the poorest survival rates of all cancers and has become the fifth commonest
cause of cancer death in the UK. Everyone can help make a BIG difference
by raising cash to help fund research and provide support to tackle this
dreadful disease every little helps!
