Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Starting and ending in Horton-in-Ribblesdale you take in the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). The aim of the challenge is walk this 26 mile route within 12 hours!

What: This challenge is a total of 26 miles of walking over the Yorkshire Dale’s highest points, a combined 6735ft. Unlike the national 3 peaks, there is no need for transport between the different hills, as the route is walked throughout. A tough challenge in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

When: Maximum Adventure run this challenge every other week from May to October and it takes place Friday to Sunday with the walk itself on the Saturday. So piick a date that suits you! Check out the date calendar here for available dates. 

Participants: You can sign up as an individual or you can get your friends and family to join you and sign up as a team. All participants need to be 18 years or older.

Preparation & Training: To do this challenge you need to have a decent level of fitness. No previous mountaineering experience is required for this trip however, the fitter you are the more you will enjoy your day. This is a long walk, covering approximately 23 miles whilst ascending the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire.

Fundraising option:

  • Sponsorship pledge: £350
  • This is per person and needs to be collected six weeks before your departure date.

Self-Fund option:

  • Registration Fee: £75
  • Trip costs: £174
  • Raise as much as you can!

Walk Only option:

  • Walk only price: £99
  • No accomodation included - select Walk Only from the Optional Extras upon booking. 
  • Raise as much as you can!

The support you will receive:

  • Qualified mountain leaders, who are also qualified first aiders.
  • Briefing, route planning and equipment check to ensure you have everything you need to fully enjoy the following day.
  • 2 nights twin room accommodation with breakfast. Single rooms are available at a supplement.
