Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Town Hall Meeting
The Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Cancer (HPB) group town hall strategy meeting will take place on Monday 29 July from 1- 3pm in the MCRC lecture theatre in Manchester. This is the first of Phase II of the MCRC town hall meetings, following a successful run for the six Cancer Research UK Centre disease groups during 2017/18.
This is an opportunity to discuss the strategy for the HPB disease site group. The key to the success of these large meetings is to have input from all areas to shape our aims as we move forward.
Light lunch and refreshments will be available from 12.30pm.
For these Town Hall meetings, patients/patient advocates are invited to attend and to contribute to the discussions. Patient/advocate experiences and opinions in informing the discussions and guiding the development of the overall research programme are crucial.
On the day Claus Jorgensen and Juan Valle (both leads in Precision-Panc in Manchester) have agreed to give a 10-15 minute presentation at the start of meeting providing an overview of current HPB research, including:
- Manchester strengths in the area, including 'one Manchester' approach
- What has been done so far
- Exciting research taking place now
Travel expenses will be reimbursed for patients/advocates to attend the meeting if they live in the local area (Greater Manchester or wider North West).
