PCAM 2012: Raise for Research
The National Day of Action 2012 - 'RAISE YOUR VOICE for Pancreatic Cancer'
To kick off Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month 2012 we asked you all to Raise Your Voice and join us in our National Day of Action which took place on 1st November, and we are very grateful to everyone who took part in calling their local MP and inviting them to the meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Pancreatic Cancer held at 4pm on 19th November.
RAISE FOR RESEARCH
Following the release of our 'A cancer of unmet need: the pancreatic research challenge' report, we launched our Raise for Research campaign.
When we looked at a range of cancers, including breast, bowel and leukemia, we found significantly higher rates of research funding in relation to deaths per year than we found for pancreatic cancer. In light of this, we called for significant and sustained investment in research into the disease as a matter of urgency.
Thank you to all our supporters who got involved in Raise for Research, whether it was by fundraising, campaigning or raising awareness in their local community. 2012 was a record year for involvement, culminating in a fantastic turnout by Parliamentarians at the November APPG meeting.
