A study to learn more about pancreatic cancer
Full title: Investigation of the molecular and genetic mechanisms promoting pancreatic cancer development and progression
Why is this trial being carried out?
This is a clinical laboratory study looking at tissue samples to find out more about how pancreatic cancer develops and progresses.
Pancreatic cancer is often quite advanced when it is diagnosed. The researchers want to learn more about what causes pancreatic cancer and what factors help it to grow.
They will look at tissue samples removed during surgery. This may be surgery for pancreatic cancer or surgery for other diseases affecting the pancreas such as pancreatitis.
Who is the trial suitable for?
You can enter this trial if you are having surgery to your pancreas for pancreatic cancer or another condition at Southampton University Hospitals Trust.
