Online support sessions

If you’re living with pancreatic cancer, or supporting somebody who is, we encourage you to come along to one of our free online support sessions.

Meet others who understand

Being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer can be an isolating experience, with little chance of knowing someone going through the same thing. Our online support sessions offer you the chance to connect with other people affected by pancreatic cancer, share your experiences, support each other and feel understood. They are relaxed and informal, with small groups of people.

Speak to a specialist nurse

All our online support sessions are hosted by one of our specialist nurses. You will be able to speak to them and ask any questions you might have.

FAQs

How do I join a session?

Our online support sessions are held on Zoom. After you register, we will send you an email with a link to join (this will be sent to you the day before the session). You can join on a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone – any device with an internet connection.

If you are new to Zoom, please don’t worry, we have a handy guide here. If you are having difficulties, please just email onlinesupport@pancreaticcancer.org.uk and we can walk you through it.

If you don’t have access to the internet, you can also dial in from a standard telephone. If you’d like to join the session in this way, please call our Support Line and we can talk you through it.

Will I have to have my camera on?

No. It’s always lovely to see friendly faces, but there is no pressure to have your camera on if you’d prefer not to.

We will do brief introductions at the start of each session, but again, there is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. If you’d prefer just to listen in, that’s absolutely fine – you can say ‘pass’ and you won’t be ‘picked on’!

Can I join from outside the UK?

As a national charity, our online support sessions are for people with a connection to the UK. This means you’ll either need to be living in the UK, or supporting someone with pancreatic cancer who lives in the UK.

I'm a healthcare professional - can I join?

These sessions are just for people with a personal connection to pancreatic cancer, but we offer separate events, training and resources for healthcare professionals to help you support your patients.
