Pancreatic Cancer UK is proud to be part of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC).
The WPCC was established to provide global leadership in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Our mission is to drive transformational change for all those affected by pancreatic cancer.
Around the world, pancreatic cancer is the seventh most common cause of cancer-related death in men and women combined.Only 2 to 10 percent of those diagnosed globally survive five years.
Through global collaboration we raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, and by coming together we strengthen the efforts of all our member organisations.
Our current membership is made up of 50 patient advocacy groups from more than 25 countries.
As a newly established Coalition (2016) we have two roles:
- To raise global awareness of pancreatic cancer through our annual World Pancreatic Cancer Day (WPCD) campaign each November.
- To help to strengthen the work of our individual Coalition members by bringing people together.
Pancreatic Cancer UK will be taking a key role in supporting both these initiatives with our Chief Executive Alex Ford sitting on the Coalition Steering Committee and through our Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month activities.
