Sadly it has been reported that fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 85.

Diana Jupp, Chief Executive of Pancreatic Cancer UK, said:

“We’re very sorry to hear reports that Karl Lagerfeld has died from pancreatic cancer and our thoughts are with his family and friends, as well everyone he touched and inspired though his art.

“Decades after huge progress has been made in treating other forms of cancer, pancreatic cancer is still taking far too many lives. It’s very difficult to treat, very difficult to diagnose and can spread quickly – depriving people of precious time with those they love most. It is so important that we take on this incredibly tough disease through the latest cutting-edge science and by being there for patients, families and friends.

“Our Specialist Nurses are here to help anyone affected by pancreatic cancer with free, confidential advice through the Pancreatic Cancer UK Support Line. They can be contacted on 0808 801 0707 or email nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uk.”
