The Jolly Boys' Golf Day out!

Posted by: Fundraising 30 August 2012

We recently received news (and a much appreciated donation!) from The Jolly Boys Outing Charity Golf Day that recently took place at Foxhills Golf & Country club in Ottershaw.

The annual event was organized by Vaughan Williams, an active supporter of Pancreatic Cancer UK who previously ran the London Marathon sporting our purple and orange vest (accompanied by his brother and fellow fundraiser, Martyn).

Waterfords estate agents in Fleet, Hampshire part-sponsored the annual event, which raised a fantastic £5,500 in its 7th year, which was then split between ourselves and a second charity.

We could tell you more, but the organiser himself says it better:

"I believe there were a few sore heads on Saturday morning but we were so pleased that everyone had fun whilst raising money for two wonderful causes. Both charities are particularly close to mine and my brother's hearts due to family members being diagnosed with cancer and this is why we decided to set up this event originally. We work very closely with Pancreatic Cancer UK and in fact ran the London Marathon as part of their 2012 team.

Over the years, the day itself has grown significantly from 22 players to the 88 players we had this year. We would like to thank everyone who attended and reached deep in their pockets during both the raffle and auction to play their part in our endeavor to support these charities. I can't thank Kier and his Waterfords team enough along with SuperVettura.com for their close support and helping take our day to the next level. All money raised and sponsorship received was donated straight to our chosen charities."

Thank you all who were involved on a fantastic day's fundraising!
