Parliamentary Support for PCAM

Posted by: Policy and campaigning 30 October 2015

On Monday we blogged about the events we are holding in the elected Parliaments and Assemblies around the UK over the course of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

The first of those was held in Westminster on Tuesday and you can read a summary of what happened, and which MPs attended, here.

However, we are looking to do more than just hold events and we are pleased to report that motions supporting PCAM have now been tabled in the House of Commons, Scottish Parliament, National Assembly for Wales, and the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Members can now add their names in support of the motions. We are pleased to see that dozens have already signed up but we would like to see the totals get as high as possible to help raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and PCAM.

So we have created some template letters for you to write to your MP, MSPs, AMs and MLAs asking them to sign up. Just visit the campaign with us page on our website and scroll down to download a copy of the letter and access a link to find out who your elected Members are.

You can see the motions, and who has signed them below. (Note: not all Members are allowed to sign Motions of this kind, for instance, if they are a Minister. Other Members choose not to sign but to show their support in other ways, e.g. by writing to Ministers).
