This November, we have launched the Demand Survival Now campaign where we’re urging every government across the UK to produce a national plan focusing on three areas to make pancreatic cancer a survivable disease. Read more about the campaign in our new policy report.
Earlier this year NHS England released the new NHS long-term plan, which sets out the strategic priorities for the NHS over the next 10 years in England. In light of the plan Cancer Alliances will have a leadership role in implementing cancer care in their area. Our aim is to work together with Cancer Alliances to ensure that people with pancreatic cancer will benefit from the strategic priorities set in the long term plan. In November 2018, we launched the award winning Demand Faster Treatment for pancreatic cancer campaign which over 100,000 people supported. As part of making the case for treatment within 20 days from diagnosis, we created a policy report detailing our recommendations for transforming pancreatic cancer care including innovations that should be part of an optimal pathway for pancreatic cancer across the country. We are working tirelessly to ensure that our policy calls and recommendations from the award winning case for Demand Faster Treatment are implemented.
