Recipient: Dr David Tuveson

Host Institution: University of Cambridge

Title: Novel Biomarker discovery for the early detection of pancreatic cancer

Type of award: 2009 Research Grant

Funding: £125,000 awarded over three years

This project is aimed at identifying pancreatic cancer earlier. Through their research they will attempt to mark the proteins made by pancreatic cancer cells. The aim of this is to make early cancer detection possible through bodily fluids or radiological imaging. This would be a great step forward in driving early detection and therefore hopeful.
