A tribute byTeresa Seagrave

Vince Howard was a kind, quiet man who always had time for his family & friends. He was a much loved, husband, dad, grandad and great grandad. He is missed so much by everyone who knew him, not least his broken hearted wife, Jean, and children, Carol, Paul and myself.

A successful footballer in his younger days and a keen swimmer, surfer, hill walker, DIYer & gardener in his later years. A fit, healthy and energetic man throughout his life, until those first symptoms began early in December 2018.

Following a second biopsy he was diagnosed with early stage Pancreatic Cancer on 10 January, surgery wasn’t offered but chemotherapy was. Dad wasn’t one to sit back and do nothing, so without any hesitation he started the first of seven sessions on 31 January. He initially had a positive attitude, but he found the side effects difficult and his health & wellbeing deteriorated quite quickly. The day before his seventh session, Dad was admitted to hospital with a very high temperature and he died eight days later on 28 March 2019 with his family by his side.

We would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for their kind thoughts and donations, raising £508 for PCUK.

He will forever be in our hearts and the memories we have are precious.
