Legacy Manager

About the role:

We are seeking a Legacy Manager to join our fantastic Fundraising Team!
(Please note this role is known internally as our ‘Supporter Acquisition and Engagement Manager – Legacies.’)

It is an exciting time to join the charity as the Mass Market Fundraising programme is growing significantly, as we launch new fundraising opportunities, partnerships and move into a new digital strategy. Gifts in Wills play a crucial role in the charity’s fundraising strategy.

We are looking for a confident and proactive leader to take responsibility for the strategic planning, delivery and ongoing development of our existing programmes whilst introducing new initiatives to significantly increase our legacy giving pipeline.

You will lead in the delivery of timely, targeted, insight-led and engaging communications to our various audiences, with the aim of recruiting new supporters as well as engaging our existing donor base to highlight the importance of leaving a gift in their Will and the lasting impact they could make. You will also play a key role in engaging and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, creating training programmes and delivering new concepts that promote gifts in Wills.

Some of the main responsibilities of this role include:

  • You will work collaboratively with the Supporter Acquisition & Engagement Senior Manager (Individual Giving & Legacy) and colleagues in other mass fundraising teams to integrate plans and ensure a seamless delivery of supporter experiences.
  • You will drive a new approach to maximise Legacy income
  • Develop, implement and lead on robust supporter recruitment plans, for legacy audiences.
  • Evaluate activity and performance to optimise supporter experiences and inform future plans.

About you:

  • An understanding of charity law in relation to legacy fundraising, gift aid, data and information management.
  • Have previously worked in a legacy giving role and understanding of legacy administration.
  • Understanding of the principles and practices of legacy marketing and supporter/customer relationship development.
  • Proven ability of planning, implement and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written, including the ability to promote leaving a gift in and writing and presenting strategy/project plans/reports.
  • A confident decision-maker with the ability to make important evidence-based decisions in relation to organisational priorities.
  • Have the ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £36,100 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday).

Location: London SE1 (temporarily remote working from home)
