My wonderful dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on 3rd Jan 2018 and lost his battle on 3 Feb 2018 - so fast.
He had for several years struggled with stomach problems and diagnosed with irritable bowel and then diverticulitis none of which were accurate. Dad began to rapidly lose weight around Dec 17, he lost his appetite and was in terrible pain.
My dad never once complained about pain or the fact he was told he had a month to live he was brave to the end. He never admitted he was dying and talked about future plans and smiled every day until the level of drugs let him sleep and slip away peacefully. I felt privileged and that my dad was at my home throughout this time and we cared for him with support of the wonderful Sue Ryder nurses.
I miss talking to my dad we spoke every day and there will be a gap forever more.
