Matthew, we miss you more than we can say. You were such a good friend, father figure, and husband to my mum. We miss your warmth and spirit, your humour and strength. I'm so sorry this happened to you, it's just not fair. I hope that you're ok, wherever you are and know that we are looking after mum. Love you loads xxxxx

They say that grief is the price we pay for love, and the grief we are feeling so keenly now is a testament to how loved Matt was and how much he will be missed.
If the only way to ease the pain would be to erase the happy memories, such as the way he danced to 'Firestarter' by the Prodigy, or the lazy weekends in the caravan, eating stale cake and mouldy butter looking over the Adriatic or simply sitting in the garden putting the world to rights over a beer, then I will take the grief and cherish those memories.

Matthew aka my F&S, there are no words to describe how cruel life can be. 6 months ago we were all holidaying together making plans for the holidays we were going to take for years to come! Fast-forward and we were given just 5 weeks with you after diagnosis. I will cherish each and every memory with you, they are all priceless.
I know it’s okay to miss you, it’s okay to cry, just know I’ll never forget you.
This isn’t a permanent goodbye, just bye for now. Xxx
