Our free Will writing services

Together we can transform the future for everyone affected.

Our free will services

We offer the following Free Will Service options. Please note that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you will need to make your Will face to face with a solicitor, due to differences in the law at the present time.

There is no obligation to leave a gift, but many kind supporters choose to leave us a percentage of their estate after providing for loved ones. Gifts of all sizes support ground-breaking research into early diagnosis and better treatment and care. And allow us to provide information and specialist nurse support to people affected by pancreatic cancer. Together we can transform the future.

Write your Will at home with a trained counsellor

You can write your Will in the comfort of your own home with our partners, The Goodwill Partnership. You can arrange a home visit at a convenient time for you. A trained counsellor will walk you through the process, and you can simply chat through your wishes. Soon after, a solicitor will check through your Will, and it will be delivered to your doorstep.

If you prefer, you can also arrange a telephone or video-call appointment.

This service is only available to supporters living in England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can still write your Will in person with a solicitor

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I need a free Will urgently?

Urgent Wills can best be provided by a local solicitor. If you need to see a solicitor to make your Will urgently, contact Clare Norman legacies@pancreaticcancer.org.uk or call her on 07773 618166. Clare will liaise with our partners, the National Free Wills Network, to see if a local solicitor is available urgently for you.

Will my Will be completely free?

Yes, it is completely free for you. We’ll cover the cost of writing or updating your simple Will with our trusted partners.

What is meant by a simple Will?

A simple Will is a legal document that states who will inherit your assets and belongings after you pass away. You can also name an Executor(s) to carry out your wishes, and a Guardian(s) to care for your dependents.

What is meant by a complex Will?

A complex Will provides you with much more in-depth ways to distribute your estate.* You can discuss this with your chosen solicitor from the National Free Wills Network (additional fees may be applicable).

*everything owned by a person who has died is known as their estate.

I already have a Will and/or solicitor. Can I use your Free Will Services to update my Will?

Yes, you can make a completely new Will, either online or with a solicitor in person. It’s best to destroy your old Will to save any confusion.

If you want to amend your existing Will using the same solicitors, email Clare at legacies@pancreaticcancer.org.uk with the name and location of your solicitor. Then we can find out if they offer free Wills through our partner, the National Free Wills Network.

Read Angela’s story

After Angela was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2020, she used our online free Will writing service to ensure her loved ones and the causes she cared about were provided for. Angela chose to leave the special message above to our nurses, together with a gift in her Will to Pancreatic Cancer UK, in the hope that, one day, research into pancreatic cancer will make the pain and difficulty she endured a thing of the past.
