    Carol was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when she was 49. She shares her experience of having surgery and chemotherapy.

    I was rushed into hospital in Dec 2018 with a blocked bile duct, and upon having a stent fitted a shadow was noticed on an ultrasound scan. It was confirmed by having a CT scan. Within a month the shadow had become a mass.

    My journey began on the 23rd December 2016 whilst away for the Christmas period. I recall having an unsettled sleep as an odd ache was developing around my diaphragm.

    Teresa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018 when she was 68, she had a Whipple’s procedure and chemotherapy.

    I hadn’t even heard of pancreatic cancer and I never thought it could happen to me. All I had ever heard about was breast, lung and some of the other more well known ones.
