Operable pancreatic cancer

Teresa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018 when she was 68, she had a Whipple’s procedure and chemotherapy.
I hadn’t even heard of pancreatic cancer and I never thought it could happen to me. All I had ever heard about was breast, lung and some of the other more well known ones.

Carole was diagnosed with operable pancreatic cancer when she was 41, in 2019 she celebrated 10 years since her diagnosis.
I am more than delighted to still be here 10 years on, especially as I am in really good health with a full and positive life. The past stays with you but the future isn’t yet written and I intend to still be here in a further 10 years and still enjoying life.

In December 2017 I started to feel unwell and I couldn’t eat. I was on Slimming World and just thought that my shrinking appetite would help the weight loss. Two weeks out of four I went to Slimming World and I was awarded ‘Slimmer of the Week’. I kept telling everyone that it was because I wasn’t eating mince pies – I love mince pies.
