Social media top tips

Social media can be a great place to talk about your story, your fundraising, and journey to the TCS London Marathon.

Here’s our top tips to using social media to maximise your fundraising!

1. Add your fundraising link in your social media bio

Adding your fundraising link to your profile’s bio is a great way to promote your page and can help your friends and family find the link easily.

2. Think about when to share on social media

Don’t be shy, keep posting on your accounts, we would recommend posting your first run, longest run or a pb during a training run, and even after the marathon when you have your medal.

Post at 9am, lunchtime, 8pm, or 10:30pm as these are the key times people are often on social media so more people will see it!

Think about special days to you and your reason for running e.g anniversaries, birthdays.

Finally, don’t forget about pay day! This is a great time to ask for sponsorship on social media

3. Use multiple platforms

Different social media platforms will have different audiences. To make sure you reach all of your network, posting on different platforms such as Linkedin, Instagram and twitter. You could even do a tiktok video!

4. Use hashtags

Using hashtags are a great way to bring in new supporters and connect with people. Use the hastags #TeamPancreaticCancerUK and #tcslondonmarathon when posting.

5. What to say

Not sure how to promote your fundraising or what to write on your post. Below, you’ll see examples of how to talk about your fundraising as part of #TeamPancreaticCancerUK – these are for you to copy, edit and use across your own social media pages.

Don’t forget to tag us @pancreaticcanuk so we can follow your journey!
