Let’s take PERT to parliament!

Make sure your local politician is at one of our virtual events this November

Right now, thousands of people with pancreatic cancer don’t have access to a simple prescription called Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy (or PERT, also known as Creon) that could stop them starving. That’s unacceptable.

Thanks to our incredible supporters:

  • Almost 3,000 health professionals have downloaded our PERT guide.
  • Almost 30,000 people have signed our open letter, making our voices hard to ignore.
  • Over £65,000 has been raised so we we can continue our vital work to transform the future for everyone with pancreatic cancer.

We’re making good progress.

But for this change to be lasting, we also need decision makers in the NHS and Government to set prescription targets.

That’s why, this Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, we’re taking our campaign to Parliament. We’re holding virtual events for MPs and other local politicians across the UK, to ask them to call on those in power to set targets.

Can you help? It takes just a moment to invite your local politician

Invite your MP to our virtual Westminster event

On 30th November we’re holding a virtual drop-in event open to all MPs across the UK.  We’ll join forces with people with experiences related to PERT, including Marie and Peter who told their stories for our Transform lives: Prescribe campaign.

Together we’ll tell MPs why it’s unacceptable that thousands of people don’t receive a simple prescription that could stop them starving. Will you make sure your MP is there?

Yes, I'll invite my MP

Invite your MLA to our virtual Assembly event

Do you live in Northern Ireland? On 16th November we’re holding a virtual Assembly event for MLAs.

Claire (pictured, centre), who had surgery in Belfast to remove the whole of her pancreas, will be speaking to MLAs at the event. Claire found PERT to be essential to her recovery, and will be asking MLAs to make sure more people have access to these vital tablets in Northern Ireland.

If you live in Northern Ireland, will you make sure your MLAs are at the event?

Yes, I'll invite my MLAs

Invite your MS to our virtual Senedd event

Do you live in Wales? On 18th November we’re holding a virtual Senedd event asking MSs to stand with us to make sure everyone who could benefit from PERT receives it.

We’ll tell MSs why it’s unacceptable 3 in 5 people in Wales don’t receive a simple prescription that could stop them starving. If you live in Wales, will you make sure your Members of the Senedd are there?

Yes, I'll invite my Members of the Senedd

Scotland is leading the way on PERT

We’re delighted to tell you that our campaigning has started to pay off in Scotland. The NHS has given the go-ahead for a specific plan to support people with pancreatic cancer in Scotland. This plan will support people from diagnosis through to treatment and care, and PERT is going to be a key part of it.

We’re making good progress in Scotland. But we need your help to make sure that decision makers across the rest of the UK are prioritising PERT.

That’s why on 30th November we’re holding a virtual event for all UK MPs.

Will you make sure your MP is there?

Yes, I'll invite my MP
