World Pancreatic Cancer Day

World Pancreatic Cancer Day marks a busy and important day in the calendar for our staff, supporters and volunteers.

This year, World Pancreatic Cancer Day took place on

Thursday 21st November 2024.

Date for the diary: Thursday 20th November 2025

What is World Pancreatic Cancer Day?

World Pancreatic Cancer Day (WPCD) typically takes place on the third Thursday of November worldwide.  It is an opportunity for charities and not-for-profit organisations across the globe to come together on one day to raise the profile of pancreatic cancer and raise awareness of the risks and symptoms of the disease

As a proud member of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition – which has over 100 member organisations across 39 countries on 6 continents – we join in the global conversation each year and support the coalition’s WPCD campaign. We also sit on the steering committee of the coalition and WPCD.

2024 marks 10 years of WPCD, so find out more about how you can get involved in the global campaign.

Purple Lights for pancreatic cancer

Every November we come together with other pancreatic cancer charities across the UK and the globe, to put a spotlight on a disease that needs more attention.

You can get involved by lighting up your home or contacting a prominent landmark in your local area to light up purple.

It doesn’t just have to be on WPCD. You can organise your light up on any day in November.

St Pancras or St PancrEas?

Every year we take over St Pancras International station, by putting the ‘e’ in PancrEas, all in the name of raising vital awareness and funds.

This event wouldn’t be complete without the wonderful Popchoir who perform their crowd-pleasing tunes to commuters and visitors to the station between 5-7pm.

Will you be passing through? Say hello to our wonderful volunteers and staff in the station, where you’ll be able to make a cash or card donation.

Look out for our branding on digital screens throughout the station too.

This has all been made possible since 2017, thanks to the wonderful support of High Speed 1 (HS1) and we can’t thank them enough.

Raising awareness

With all eyes on pancreatic cancer acoss the globe on WPCD, it is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the disease, the function of the pancreas and the symptoms to look out for.

We have lots of resources for you to download and share.
