This free online event explored symptom assessment and management for people living with pancreatic cancer. 

Our Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurses teamed up with UGI CNSs from Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver this session discussing some of the common physical symptoms of pancreatic cancer and how we can best manage these.

We looked at: nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, fatigue, pain, thromboembolism, gastric outlet obstruction (GOO), biliary obstruction, ascites and lymphoedema.

This session is suitable for all healthcare professionals treating and supporting people with pancreatic cancer, no matter your level or role. It is particularly relevant for the following roles: 

  • UGI / HPB CNSs – both those new to post and those looking for a recap  
  • Community Staff including Healthcare Assistants, Community Nurses and District Nurses 
  • Support staff such as support workers, patient navigators and MDT co-ordinators  
  • Primary Care Staff 
  • Palliative care teams
