Volunteers Week – It’s time to say thanks…

Our amazing volunteers give their time to support us in a variety of ways; all contributing toward our vision that everyone with pancreatic cancer survives to live long and well.

We want to say a massive Thank You to each and every one of our volunteers. You are at the heart of everything we do.

Nearly 19.5 million people volunteer in the UK, giving their precious time to good causes. Here at Pancreatic Cancer UK our amazing volunteers give their time to support us in a variety of ways; all contributing toward our vision that everyone with pancreatic cancer survives to live long and well.

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one, but we’re taking it on together. No matter how much time you have to give, we have some great volunteering opportunities that might just be the perfect fit for you.

Local Volunteering

We’re expanding our volunteering community to build upon our local presence, build influence and raise vital funds, throughout the UK.

As a result, we are creating two new volunteer roles:

  • Local Volunteer – needed at various locations across the UK to represent us and promote the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK, whether that is telling others about our services, the research we fund or our latest campaigns.  This is a flexible and varied volunteering role that will give you the opportunity to support us in your community through local engagement, awareness raising and, campaigning achieving a greater reach for our services and fundraising.
  • Local Volunteer Group Leader – needed at various locations across the UK to co-ordinate and support a group of volunteers.  This is a flexible and varied volunteering role that will give you the opportunity to lead and support a group of Pancreatic Cancer UK local volunteers in your community who will provide support through local engagement, awareness raising and, campaigning achieving a greater reach for our services and fundraising.

“Creating 12 regional Local Volunteering Groups throughout the UK will help us reach everyone who needs us. It will amplify our voice and influence and reflect the communities we support."

Lynn Quigley, Volunteer Lead at Pancreatic Cancer UK
