Do you have problems digesting your food?
Our leaflet explains the symptoms you might get, what PERT is, and how to get it.
The pancreas makes enzymes which help to break down food. This is part of digestion. Pancreatic cancer and surgery to remove the cancer can cause problems with digestion. You might get symptoms like weight loss, diarrhoea and tummy pain.
Readily available tablets can change that, but half of people with the disease are never prescribed them.
The tablets are called Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy (PERT). Common brands are Creon®, Nutrizym® and Pancrex®. They can help manage symptoms and build strength for treatment, and can make a big difference to how you feel.
We are here to make sure everyone who needs them has access to them, and can live life to the fullest.
Our friendly nurses are only a call away. They are specialists in pancreatic cancer and can help to make sure you get the tablets you need, as well as take the correct dosage in the correct way.
