Pancreatic cancer and emotional wellbeing

Tuesday 4th February 2025, 6-7pm via Zoom

About this webinar:

Pancreatic cancer can affect every part of your life, including your emotions. Whether you’ve been diagnosed yourself, or are supporting a loved one, it’s normal to need some support. In this webinar, we talked openly about what to expect and shared some practical tips for how to look after your emotional wellbeing.

We were joined by two of our Specialist Nurses, Lisa and Jeni, who help people affected by pancreatic cancer every day on our Support Line and we were also very excited to welcome Tara White, Centre Head of Maggie’s Swansea, who joined the session.

What we covered:

  • What emotions you may experience after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, whether yours or someone you’re supporting.
  • How these emotions may impact you and how to manage them.
  • Practical tips to help you get the right support – from talking to friends and family, to reaching out to us and other organisations.

There was an opportunity to ask questions, and Tara shared some useful relaxation exercises.

Speakers:

  • Jeni Jones — Specialist pancreatic cancer nurse at Pancreatic Cancer UK
  • Tara White — Centre Head at Maggie’s Centre, South Wales
  • Lisa Woodrow — Specialist pancreatic cancer nurse at Pancreatic Cancer UK
