Jeni Jones, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Jeni has been nursing for 32 years and has spent the past seventeen years working in cancer care, including the care of people with pancreatic cancer. She has worked in the areas of chemotherapy, palliative care and clinical trials and is experienced in providing support to patients, families and friends.

Rachel Richardson, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Rachel has been nursing for over 20 years and has varied experiences of working in the NHS.  A big part of her previous roles has been particularly focused on supporting and caring for palliative and end of life patients, enabling them to have end of life care in their preferred place.  Rachel’s most recent post before joining the charity has been looking after patients diagnosed with upper gastrointestinal cancers, including pancreatic cancers, ensuring that they receive the most appropriate treatment and are fully supported throughout their cancer journey.

Nicci Murphy, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Nicci has been nursing for 20 years and started her career as a district nurse, going on to specialise in palliative care, both in the community and in a hospice setting. For the last 8 years, Nicci has worked in oncology in a city hospital providing information, support and practical advice to individuals and their families’ affected by a cancer diagnosis, including pancreatic cancer.

Lynne McCallum, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Lynne qualified as a nurse in 2003 and has supported those with pancreatic cancer since this time in various roles and settings. Her background is oncology; she was a chemotherapy nurse then a chemotherapy sister before becoming the HPB and NET Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. Her roles there included supporting individuals from diagnosis onwards, this included the planning, delivery and reviewing of anti-cancer treatments, and providing information, support and practical advice to individuals and their loves ones affected by a HPB or NET cancer diagnosis. Lynne joined PCUK in 2017.

Lea Booth, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Lea studied at the University of Birmingham and qualified as a nurse in 2011. She has worked in Oncology departments in a large teaching hospital in the West Midlands since graduating. Her first junior nursing role was as a chemotherapy nurse on the inpatient and young person’s unit before she joined the Oncology research team as a research sister, running clinical trials for both liver and pancreatic patients. Her role before joining Pancreatic Cancer UK was as a HPB clinical nurse specialist that covered surgical and oncology pathways for both pancreatic and liver cancer patients, supporting and guiding them through their cancer journeys.

Simon Walker, Pancreatic Cancer Specialist Nurse

Simon has been a registered nurse for over 20 years starting his career in specialist surgery within an acute NHS hospital before moving into Community Nursing. For the past 15 years, Simon has worked as a specialist nurse within hospice care in both the community and inpatient settings. His focus has therefore been in palliative care supporting people with life-limiting illness, including those living with pancreatic cancer. Simon’s aim has been to help patients and their loved ones maximise their quality of life and this is something he is passionate about offering people affected by pancreatic cancer.
