Walk for Pia: The Gavin and Stacey themed walk from Billericay to Barry Island
Pia was aged just 54 when she sadly lost her life to pancreatic cancer in September 2021, 11 months after her diagnosis. Now, Pia’s husband, Simon, and their two daughters Rhiannon and Emilia have been joined by family and friends in walking from Billericay, Essex, to Barry Island, South Wales, to honour her life, raise vital awareness and funds for the disease and celebrate her love of BBC Sitcom Gavin and Stacey!

Challenge 24 in May FAQs

“The support for each other really shone through”
Last month, our amazing Jog 28 miles in February participants braved the dreary weather to cover 28 miles over 28 days, raising an incredible £300k! Each and every participant was kept going by their own unique and inspiring stories, including Amy, who took part in support of her mum, Angela, sadly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2020.

‘Double Donations. Double survival.’
Thousands of you had your donations doubled by generous philanthropists last week during our ‘Double Donations. Double survival.’ Appeal. Thank you so much for helping to raise an amazing £80,000. Your support means we are doubling the impact on vital early diagnosis research.

Our Charity Lottery anniversary
Every £1 ticket that you’ve bought for our Weekly Charity Lottery has meant that we can fund vital world-leading research to find that breakthrough in new treatments and further improve the speed of diagnosis. And it means our nurses can be there for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.

A month to remember
As Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month 2021 draws to a close, we're thrilled to share with you all the amazing ways we've raised vital awareness and funds, together, to take on this tough cancer.

St Pancras International changes its name for the fifth year running
Today, it's World Pancreatic Cancer Day, and for the fifth year we're delighted to be partnering with HS1 Limited. The result of which is London's iconic station, St Pancras International, will become St PancrEas for the day. We are so excited to have reached this milestone and to once again raise vital awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer in collaboration with the team.

My sister died on Christmas day.
Coronavirus is putting our vital research at risk. We’ve had to cut funding for our Research Innovation projects by 60%. We’re desperate to invest in as much research as possible, so we can save more lives. But we can’t do it alone. Please help with a gift today.

‘The love we have for her kept us going’
On 12th September, our 150 amazing runners took to the streets of Newcastle, crossing the iconic Tyne Bridge twice and traversing the beautiful coastline of South Shields to raise (so far!) a fantastic £90k.
