Barts Choir chose Pancreatic Cancer UK as their Charity of the Year in 2016. They rose money through a series of bucket collections at their events and held bake sales.
Both events took part at Cadogan Hall over two days in July and December 2016. The support Pancreatic Cancer received over all four nights was incredible, raising over £4,600. Thank you so much to Barts Choir and the supporters who attended and donated at the events.
Margaret (Maggie) Baird, Secretary of Barts Choir said, "Pancreatic Cancer UK was chosen as a medical charity, which is always our starting point. Secondly, it looked to be a very dynamic organisation with a message of hope and with some interest in linking with musical events". Maggie said that pancreatic cancer is a disease that resonated with many Barts Choir Board of Trustees, "who nearly all had a close connection with someone who had died of pancreatic cancer. All in all - we thought it a very worthwhile cause".
We are delighted that Barts Choir chose to support Pancreatic Cancer UK and really helped us to raise much needed awareness of pancreatic cancer and our work.
