Become a cheer point volunteer

Meet new people and make a difference by volunteering at running events across the UK

In 2025, our amazing cheer point volunteers gave their valuable time and enthusiastic energy at running events across the UK including; the TCS 2025 London Marathon, Great North Run, Edinburgh Marathon Festival, and more! These fantastic individuals cheered on over 900 runners who raised over £3.1 million to fund our vital work. And we’re excited to have even more volunteers on board in 2026!

Check out the inspiring stories from our 2025 cheer point volunteers, including volunteer Glenys in Brighton and some of our TCS 2025 London Marathon volunteers:

Relive their stories

Volunteers like Glenys and others ensure our cheer points for Pancreatic Cancer UK are the loudest and the most purple at all running events across the UK! Our incredible runners raise vital funds for our work, and as a cheer point volunteer you will give them the boost they need to get across the finish line. By increasing our visibility, you’ll have a significant role in raising awareness of Pancreatic Cancer UK and the disease.

Keen to join in the fun, and play an integral part in raising the profile of this important cause while you’re at it?

Then why not join us as a cheer point volunteer? We’d love to have you on board!

The events where we’ll be holding cheer points are as follows:

  • Brighton Marathon (12th April 2026)

Key things to know before you sign up for this exciting role:

  • We are committed to safeguarding everyone we work with. This is reflected in how we recruit and support our volunteers.
  • If you’ve volunteered before you may notice a few improvements to the sign-up process. We’d love to hear your feedback.

We have two application forms to make signing up as easy as possible. Please choose the one that best matches how you want to volunteer:
